A focused backup-power setup.

Generator inlet

A dedicated inlet provides a planned connection point for compatible portable-generator power.

Panel interlock

The interlock arrangement is part of coordinating generator input with the home’s electrical panel.

Panel condition

The existing panel and service equipment may affect the appropriate installation approach.

Defined project scope

Jeff Electric focuses on generator inlet/interlock work rather than complicated utility-scale generator installations.

Serving Southeast Houston homeowners

Request service in Pasadena, Pearland, Friendswood, Webster, Clear Lake and nearby Southeast Houston communities.

Start with your equipment and priorities

Tell us the generator model, if known, and which household needs you hope to support. Mention any existing inlet or interlock so the conversation starts with the equipment already in place.

The appropriate connection depends on compatibility with the generator and electrical panel. Request an assessment before purchasing connection equipment; sending a request does not confirm that an existing setup is suitable.

Start with your generator and the home’s electrical equipment

Portable generator connection or standby system?

A portable generator inlet and interlock project has a different scope from a standby generator installation. Tell us which equipment you have and what you want it to support. Our project photos show different types of residential electrical equipment; a photo does not define the scope of a new estimate.

What determines compatibility?

The generator, connection equipment and electrical panel need to be considered together. Send model information and photos of the equipment with covers closed. Jeff Electric can discuss the appropriate connection scope before you purchase parts or assume an existing arrangement is suitable.

What should the initial request include?

List the household needs you want to discuss, the intended generator location and any existing inlet, interlock or transfer equipment. Final equipment selection and project scope depend on an assessment. Request an estimate for your setup rather than treating another home’s installation as a parts list.
